I'm no longer taking saddle orders but I decided to leave this page up. I also left up the link to Nikkel Saddle Trees. Even though they are no longer building trees, there is still a lot of good info on their site and they have some great saddle fitting videos.
A handmade saddle is an investment that can last for generations with the proper care and use. These saddles are made in a traditional manner. Each piece is cut by hand from the appropriate part of the hide, wet and formed to the tree. The stirrup leathers are stretched and turned and the skirts are blocked to the tree....no shortcuts. From the high end rawhide covered wood tree, approximately 2-3 sides of Hermann Oak leather, the bark tanned sheepskin....nothing has replaced these natural materials and traditional methods for fit, form and function. Most of these saddles were made on Nikkel trees, 2 on Christman and 1 on a Wright.
A few favorites.......
